10 Reasons Why Blackpool is the Place to be this Winter

Are you looking for a place to spend the winter with that Christmas feeling without it being too cold? The place that  is easily reachable, has a lot of entertainment, has an ice skating rink, Christmas market and all that without breaking the bank? Then you should come to Blackpool. Why Blackpool you say? This is why:

Illuminations Season Extended

Blackpool was the first town to have electric street lighting and visitors have been coming to see Blackpool lights since 1879!

It has become one of the UK’s most enduring tourist attractions, currently it has more than 500 designs and features in six miles of display.

Starting 3rd September, Blackpool Illuminations will be shining all the way through to 3rd January 2022.

Guy Fawkes Night Celebration

V for Vendetta fan?

This obscure English celebration referenced in V for Vendetta commemorates the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London.

Strangely enough, in the current days the date is marked with burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes in a massive bonfire and blowing up some fireworks – making it a day for both pro and anti plot sympathizers to celebrate.

Blackpool usually celebrates 5th of November in Stanley Park at the Blackpool Cricket Club.
