Cairo is also the largest city in Africa. You will see why when you arrive. It’s not the biggest in terms of square kilometers, but when you see the sheer number of people buzzing around the place you will get the idea. The birth rate in Egypt is currently pushing up the population by 1 million a year. There are around 75 million people in Egypt. Similar to the UK, only the UK does not have 4% of it’s land as usable and the rest as sand. This is what you see and feel the entire time you are in Cairo. It’s people. They are everywhere. And they all want to say hello. It’s a great city Cairo and one of the best to spend a few days in exploring. Have a look at the pages in the Cairo section to find out more about Cairo and how we see it.
