Weather in Egypt in September
The weather in Egypt in September can be still hot like August but normally cooler during the day and at night. The mid day sun is still quite fierce and best avoided but most of the day is pleasant and the evenings are good with no humidity allowing you to move around freely without getting hot and sweaty. I personally like the weather in September the best. I go swimming in the morning in our pool as it’s warm enough and enough the heat of the day, yet can sometimes justify a fire in the evenings to sit around. If you are looking to come to Egypt in September for a holiday, you need to like warm sunny days and no rain. It can get quite stuffy in the afternoons in Cairo if their is no wind and quite hot out in the desert in Siwa. Along the coast the weather during the day is great with a light breeze keeping you cool on the beaches that in mid September become deserted as the Cairo familsy go back home in time for the schools to reopen.

Siwa in September The ‘big hot days’ have gone by now and the weather is very nice. Avoiding the mid day sun is still a must, but only for a few hours and the rest of the day is fine and not too hot in the sun. If your a compulsive sun bather, you are guaranteed as much frying weather as you can handle. September is a good month for this as it is not too hot during the day allowing you to fry for as many hours as you can cope with. Alexandria is still warm day and night in September and still has the crowds from the emirates and Cairo, but not as much as July and August and most of them disappear half way through the month as the kids go back to school. Cairo Climate in Cairo is similar to Siwa and is fine for most of the day except for a few hours in mid afternoon when the cairo air can be very heavy if their is no wind and make walking around the markets or the pyrmids a bit uncomfortable. So as long as you avoid being out in direct sunlight in the afternoon on still days, you will be fine. Cairo only tours Most days are not hot and are pleasant with evenings being nice and warm. Make sure you have light cloths that allow you to breath and to keep cool and do not worry about wet weather gear. It’s highly unlikely you will get caught in the rain. In Siwa where we live, for sure you will not see rain!
