Marake Village

Marake is going through a bit of an identity change. What was the poor mans town, is not becoming the ‘in the know’ foreigners place to build a house in Siwa. You need a car to get here and so it keeps away most people leaving the small villages untampered by the changes going on in other parts of the oasis.

As and when i get time I will add in what I know about this village. It is one of my favorite locations in Siwa and part of my day trip out to the salt lake. There are five springs in one area, all hidden away, not a tourist in site 🙂
