Since the beginning of his journey in search of somewhere different, Duncan has been recording his family’s overland trip from London via Sri Lanka, Siwa Oasis (to mention only a few countries…) to their final home in Breb, Romania.
24 hours after the Ridgleys arrived in Sri Lanka the tsunami struck and the notebooks disappeared amid the devastation.
Over the years, the notebooks have been re-written and we are about to start editing. We are also renovating traditional Maramures houses and preparing our kitchen garden ready for next spring, not to mention our treehouse hostel and natural earth houses up on the mountain…
