Creepy Crawlies
There are snakes and there are scorpions here… apparently. I have lived here for a five years now and have not seen a scorpions and just the few odd grass snakes. They all hibernate in the winter and are scared shitless of humans! Some are slightly poisonous and if you were unlucky enough to get bitten you need to get to the local hospital within 24 hours for the vaccine, but this is only a very slight risk and only in the summer months.

Our kids have run around in our desert home for years and not one of them have ever been bitten, maybe they were lucky or as we have a cat, maybe they stay well away. Penny had to kill a big snake once, and got so carried away chopped it up into several pieces, but this was only because she moved a load of stones before Christmas dinner and upset the snake sleeping. See if you can spot the snake… bits in the Christmas video.
