Panora Villa - Sleeps 12

Panora is a zone just south of the village. You can walk to the main road entrance to Breb in five minutes from Panora. This is a good villa to rent in the winter if you come on one of our all inclusive Romania Ski Holidays. If the snow is heavy in the village you can leave your hire car at the bus stop and walk the last five minutes to the house or get a one horse open sleigh to take you. Panora is very private yet close to the village so has the best of both worlds. The house is in very good condition. It's 12 meters by 7 so not big but not small, just right. We built in a basement level in the house so it looks like any other traditional Maramures house, but it has two huge rooms in the basement that will sleep 8 people sharing a large shower area and toilet. In the loft area there will be two rooms for the parents with en suits. In the middle there will be a large living room and a large traditional country kitchen mixed in with a few mod cons as we will have electricity and water from the mains here.

The picture above was taken for an article in the Mail on Sunday about Prince Charles. This is how the villa looks today. We will hopefully finish it next year in 2011 or 2012 depending on how the funds and the stiff backs go.

To the left is the house as we found it, gain in the village of Sarbi. It is in great condition and was well taken care of by the family that again like all the others, were born in the house and lived in it all their lives. Why they want to tear it down and put up an new one is beyond me but it's the fashion and, that what you do. The pictures below are the two main rooms when we first saw the house. It was like a living museum. We plan to get the villa back to it's former glory but adding in a few mod cons like hot showers and flushing toilets and central heating for the skiers in the winter.
