Romania travel is still exciting and a little bit wild. On the surface things have changes in Romania a lot since the 90's so if you meet any one who came here on a charity run and says don't go there, tell them things have changed, a lot. Things seem similar to the ways of Western Europe in a lot of places, espeshaly Bucharest. You can catch a train from Cluj Napoca to Baia Mare that is newer than any train I have been on in England, it is brand new, state of the art and no doubt paid for by the European community. But the old ways are still here as well. If you want to make your way across the countryside hitch Hiking by just travelling on a horse and cart, you can. It will take you awhile but you can do it. Try doing that in England
