If your coming to Romania for more than a week, I suggest you by the Lonely Planet Guide to Romania. It has everything you need to know about Romania including history of the country as a whole and the Maramures region. You’ll find it helpful when your in Cluj Napoca or at Hotel Castle Dracula if you are there on your own and not on one of our Transylvanian Tours.

A must read when you are in Romania or about to come here. Read Dracula, get into the whole vampire thing and you’ll appreciate the full moon so much more when you see it in Transylvania. It’s obviously well written and classics story worth reading even if your just thinking of coming to Romania.

If you haven’t seen the film, you must have seen the film? If your kids haven’t seen the film… it’s worth getting and let them watch it before you come out to Transylvania and Maramures. To set the expectations of what is to come and understand why you need some garlic and a wooden stake by your bed.
