This Christmas,
if you want to get away from all the hype and have
a relaxing holiday. Siwa
Oasis is the place to do it.

Siwa's 'high' season is Christmas. Most places in
town have European tourists and Egyptians staying
with them and it has that high season feeling in town
with the jeep drivers all busy and happy and everyone
enjoying themselves. There are lots of other like
minded people to hang out with if you want to party,
or of course you can spend you days easily not seeing
another foreigner and just enjoy the local way of
life avoiding the Christmas hype and palaver all together.

The dinning table at the Siwa Villa is perfect for
a monster Christmas dinner. It sits 10 comfortably
but we could easily squeeze a few locals you may have
meet who you might want to invite or some of the local
foreigners who may well be interested in some mints
sauce flown in especially.

Siwans like that fact that you are a Christian as
any one who is of no religion is not to be trusted
in Siwan culture. They like to see you 'perform' your
religious festivities in the same way as you find
Ramadan of interest. They under stand that alcohol
is involved and will have no problem knowing your
knocking back a few bottles of wine with your turkey
as it is tradition after all as long as it is in private
and not openly consumed outside of the Villa.
Coming to Siwa for Christmas is a good time of the
year weather wise ( see
weather in Egypt in December ) it is warm and
sunny in the day but cool enough in the evening to
have a roaring fire in the house and on the roof to
keep you warm.

We can order a Turkey from Marsa Matrouh for you
and using a bit of smuggled ingredients from home
( you must remember to bring the bisto) we can produce
a full English traditional Christmas dinner for you
or a totally different traditional Siwan meal... or
we just leave it all up to you and you can enjoy being
inventive to see how close a traditional meal you
can make from what is available in Siwa which is much
more fun.
Leave Lap land to the rest this year and go to the
complete opposite... the Sahara Desert! If you would

Different Holiday over Christmas 2007 -08 click here
